Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Motovu handles, why, and the choices you have. Effective date: 30 October 2026.

1. Who we are

Motovu (“Motovu”, “we”, “us”) is a gate check-in, check-out and workshop security platform for vehicle service centres, operated by Akrabhi Softlabs Private Limited (CIN: U72900OR2018PTC029102), having its registered office at K4-113, Kalinga Nagar, Bhubaneswar, Odisha 751019, India. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and related Indian law, we act as a Data Fiduciary for data about our own website visitors and prospective customers, and as a Data Processor for data a service centre (our customer) enters into Motovu about its own staff, customers and vehicles.

This policy covers our website https://motovu.app, the Motovu web dashboard, the Motovu mobile apps, and any messages we send through channels such as email, SMS, WhatsApp or other Meta platforms.

3. How we use data

We process personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of our services to your workshop, and legitimate uses permitted by the DPDP Act, such as compliance with law and prevention of fraud.

4. Messaging and Meta platforms

Where a service centre enables customer messaging, Motovu may send transactional notifications (for example “your vehicle has been checked in”) through the WhatsApp Business Platform or other Meta-provided services. When this happens, the recipient’s phone number and message content are shared with Meta Platforms, Inc. and its affiliates to deliver the message, and are also subject to Meta’s own terms and privacy policy. We only message people whose number was provided to the workshop for this purpose, and every recipient can opt out by replying STOP or by emailing us at abhijeet@akrabhi.com.

We do not use Meta data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to build profiles of individuals. If we offer “Log in with Facebook”, we only receive the profile fields you approve and use them solely to create and secure your account. You can remove Motovu from your Facebook settings at any time and request deletion as described on our Data Deletion page.

5. Who we share data with

We share personal data only as needed to run the service:

We never sell personal data or share it for third-party advertising.

6. Retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as the law requires. Typical periods: gate images and visit logs are kept for the period configured by the workshop (default 12 months); account data is kept while the account is active and for up to 90 days after closure; enquiry data is kept for up to 24 months. After that, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised. Backups roll off within 35 days of deletion.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access control, audit logging, and access restricted to authorised personnel. No system is perfectly secure; if a personal data breach occurs we will notify affected parties and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to access a summary of your data, correct or complete it, erase it, withdraw consent at any time, nominate another person to exercise your rights, and have your grievances addressed. To exercise any right, email abhijeet@akrabhi.com or use the steps on our Data Deletion page. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

If you are a customer or visitor of a service centre, the workshop is generally the party responsible for your data; we will help route your request to them.

9. Children

Motovu is a business tool for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children. If you believe a child’s data has been provided to us, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Cookies

Our website uses only essential cookies and basic privacy-friendly analytics. We do not use advertising cookies.

11. Where data is stored

Data is hosted on secure infrastructure, primarily in India. If data is processed elsewhere (for example by a messaging provider), we require appropriate safeguards and only transfer to countries permitted under Indian law.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our product or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify account holders.
